Dr. Karen Danylchuk is a Professor of Sport Management in the School of Kinesiology and the Associate Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University in London, Canada. Throughout her career at Western, she has also served as Coordinator of Intercollegiate Athletics. Prior to working at Western, Dr. Danylchuk taught at Hong Kong International School. Her research interests include sports participation; women’s representation in sport; leadership; and sport marketing. She has published extensively in a variety of academic journals and has presented her research globally.
Dr. Danylchuk has been a leader in global sport management, serving as a former President, Treasurer, and Chair of the International Relations Committee of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM); founder and current President of the World Association for Sport Management (WASM); and founder and honorary member of the Asian Association for Sport Management (AASM). She has been awarded the Earle F. Zeigler Lecture Award (NASSM’s highest scholarly honor), the Garth Paton Distinguished Service Award, and is a NASSM Research Fellow (inaugural group).
