Ryan Snelgrove

Assistant Professor, Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, University of Waterloo

Dr. Ryan Snelgrove’s research focuses on organizational change and social development in sport. In particular, Dr. Ryan Snelgrove is interested in

(1) how sport organizations and systems can successfully manage the change process to produce a variety of positive outcomes,

(2) how sport shapes individual, social, and national identities, and

(3) how sport events can be leveraged to create positive social outcomes.

The calls are growing louder and stronger for a national public inquiry into sport. This is the only way to get at the complexity and decades-long entrenchment of abuse. It’s time for us to listen to athletes and act.
